Tuesday, September 22nd - Ellie Chamberland, Director, Marketing Strategy, The Howard Hughes Corporation

Ellie Chamberland, a Utah native, has been in NY for nine years where she currently works as the Director of Marketing Strategy for the Seaport District at The Howard Hughes Corporation (HHC). HHC owns, manages and develops commercial, residential and mixed-use real estate across the country, with the purpose of helping people discover new ways of experiencing life. In the Seaport District, HHC is leveraging the Seaport District's history as the birthplace of innovation, as it transforms a district spanning several city blocks, creating approximately 450,000 square feet of dynamic culinary, fashion, entertainment and cultural experiences. One highlight is Pier 17, host to restaurants from acclaimed chefs including Jean-Georges Vongerichten, David Chang, Helene Henderson, and Andrew Carmellini. The Rooftop at Pier 17 is an award-winning concert venue, with performances from Billie Eilish, Diana Ross, Ringo Starr, Trevor Noah, Kings of Leon and many more since its opening in 2018.

As the Director of Marketing Strategy, Ellie works across departments to drive awareness, traffic & revenue to the Seaport District through neighborhood-wide activations, partnerships & campaigns. Her team supports businesses within the Seaport while maintaining the overarching brand values.

Prior to Howard Hughes, Ellie spent six years at Scholastic overseeing marketing for Scholastic Book Clubs. Ellie was passionate about the business, introducing new teachers to Book Clubs which provide access to affordable books for children across the country and helps teachers build affordable classroom libraries.

Ellie lives in Brooklyn with her pugs, Brandy and Monica. She is an avid football fan (go Broncos!) and plays in multiple fantasy leagues (acting as commissioner in one of them). She loves to travel, skydive (with the goal of doing a jump in every state), cook and is using her quarantine time to learn the guitar & Spanish.
