Tuesday, September 8th - Lindsay LaBennett, Director, Wasserman Media Group

A Baltimore area native, Lindsay LaBennett graduated magna cum laude from North Carolina A&T State University, obtaining a bachelor’s in Journalism and Mass Communication – with a focus in Public Relations and a Masters in Sports Management at Ohio University.

After graduation, Lindsay started off her career in Daytona Beach, Florida as an Account Executive in the Diversity Affairs department for America’s premier racing league, NASCAR. Honing in on her internship experience with XM Satellite Radio and Bouvier Kelly (PR Firm), Lindsay lead the charge in managing the NASCAR HBCU College Tour, NASCAR Diversity Internship Program and NASCAR’s Supplier Diversity Initiative. Another important role she maintained was the liaison between NASCAR and several civil rights organizations include NAACP, National Urban League, Council de La Raza and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. 

By leveraging her experience and industry contacts, Lindsay transitioned her career from the league side to the agency side, landing a position with Octagon, one of these most recognized sports marketing agencies in the world.  Based in their Charlotte office, she managed sponsorship elements for Sprint within the sport of NASCAR and the NFL. Lindsay focused on activating marketing platforms at-track, developing communication and program strategy around the NASCAR Sprint Pit Crew Challenge and NASCAR Championship Week, planning and executing VIP hospitality events for over 10,000 associates.

After her tenure at Octagon, Lindsay joined Wasserman – where she continued to manage aspects of client relationships across Nationwide Insurance and their NASCAR, VCU Men’s Basketball and Ohio State University Football team relationships. Over the last six years, Lindsay has managed, negotiated and executed deals between Fortune 500 brands (Nationwide Insurance, Microsoft, Verizon, X-Box, Surface, and Lenovo) and the NFL, all 23 professional football teams and over 15 player deals. Most recently, she has manage marketing deals for top NFL players and retired-players including Odell Beckham Jr, Matt Forte, Marcus Allen, Jerome Bettis, Greg Olsen and Larry Fitzgerald. In addition to managing the league, team, and talent deals, Lindsay is focused on driving multi-cultural efforts, including diversity recruiting and cultural competency as a member of Wasserman’s Diversity and Inclusion Council. In this moment, Lindsay has used her role to provide resources and solutions, along with lead the anti-racist work required to move forward.

Lindsay is married to a fellow-Aggie, Richard LaBennett, has one stepson (Aidan) and a busy 5-year old, Laya. Outside of work, Lindsay is passionate about traveling, entertaining, cooking and listening to podcasts.

Mari is a Medical Malpractice Claims Professional with 25+ years handling medical professional claims nationwide. Technically focused and results oriented working to defend the reputations of my insured customers and for best possible results. Experience in handling all types and sizes of health care facilities, physicians and physician group practices, with particular expertise in large hospital systems and high exposure cases. Experience in conducting claim reviews on health care accounts, claims marketing and building medical malpractice claims infrastructure.
