Tuesday, August 25th - Amy Scheer, Founder / President of Game On: Scheer Insights & Strategy.

Amy Scheer has had the great fortune of playing in the sports field for over 25 years.  A veteran leader in the industry, Scheer has attended, watched, produced or listened to over 1,700 live sporting events during her award-winning career representing four sports teams in the New York market place.

The New Jersey Nets was her first stop and fortuitously at a time when sports, as a business, was just starting to flourish.  Over the course of 15 seasons, she had the opportunity to launch many new projects including Emmy award winning team-specific TV shows (Nets Courtside and Gate D), New York Print Industries award winning team magazine (InnerNets), a youth radio show (Slammin’ Planet) as well as the first free game day program (PlayBall).  The vast skillset developed at the Nets was the perfect training ground for her next stop as the VP, Marketing & Communications for the New York Liberty of the WNBA.  In her ten-year tour at Madison Square Garden, the Liberty consistently led the league in attendance, ticket sales, marketing partnerships and award winning marketing campaigns (Telly and Davey Awards).  On the court Scheer delivered groundbreaking events such as producing and hosting the first ever professional basketball regular season game held outdoors at Arthur Ashe Stadium and staging six games at Radio City Music Hall.  Following a three-year break from sports, Scheer made her way back in to the game by helping launch NYCFC to record crowds at Yankee Stadium.  The New Jersey native made her way back home, representing the New York Red Bulls as their Chief Commercial Officer where she oversaw all revenue areas helping bring in over 90 million dollars in three seasons.  After the Red Bulls, Scheer formed her own LLC, Scheer Insights & Strategy and moved on to a consulting role with Madison Square Garden across multiple properties including the Westchester Knicks and New York Rangers in marketing, branding, ticket sales, marketing partnerships, event presentation, events and mentoring young staff members.

Currently, Amy is spending her days consulting for Rugby United New York of Major League Rugby writing commercial and marketing plans, working on media rights and additional miscellaneous business responsibilities as the team prepares for its 3rd season starting February 2021.
