Transparency

Transparency is so important. Always.

During these times of uncertainty when people are looking for their next opportunity, hiring managers need to be honest about their intentions with their open positions. I spoke to someone about an opportunity, ten minutes into the conversation, the hiring manager was very honest and told me where her head was at with the position. I knew right away that I wasn’t the one. Despite not being the one, I now have a new contact in my network.

When the recruiter called to tell me that I wasn’t on the short list, I wasn’t surprised and I was OK with the message that I received. Why? Because the hiring manager was transparent in our initial conversation.

It was so refreshing.
