Furloughed and Paying It Forward

In the middle of week four of being furloughed and 10 [completed] lunchtime conversations on LIVE IG with women.

The discussions have been fun, light, rewarding and have walked away with great career insights.

Here’s what we learned so far:

Have structure. Buy a planner. Have work / life balance.
Never stay at a job for more than 10 years, you won’t grow after 10 years. Be loyal to yourself. Have balance.
Interaction matters. Earn trust / respect / creditability. Build relationships. Relationships are key.
Listen and learn before your interject. Give yourself credit.
Adapt with patience. Have awareness of self and others.
Find and build your voice. Go for it. Know when to pivot. People, your inner circle is key.
Relationships matter. Reputation is more important than your resume. Believe in yourself.
It’s who you know, not what you know. Have a mentor, be a mentor. Never stop learning.
