There was only one

This describes my relationship with my older brother.

He was a star high school basketball player.

Our family outings were to see him play.

My first job out of school was the the NY Knicks, his favorite team. He loved going to the Garden and enjoyed the South Club.

Years later I got a job at the Nets. He didn’t like the Nets. I tried to convert him to be a Nets fan and he wasn’t having it.

This was a Christmas gift. We laughed. Laughed hard.

I idolized him. He was a successful athlete, later a successful businessman, a devoted father, a political figure in Newark and a friend to so many. He loved his kids more than anything in life.

I’m so proud to have had the privilege to be his sister.

He joined my father. My Dad needed an angel by his side. They’ll be discussing the NY Mets. My brother’s baseball team. He loved the NY Giants.

My brother taught me more about sports, shoes and watches than he’ll ever know.

I love you, Tave. #RIP 11.25.2020 11:25am
